Speaker and Referral Trainer Jill Schoenhofer has an MBA in Marketing, an Adult Education Certificate and is an Extended DISC trainer. She worked at graphic design companies and advertising agencies for ten years in Toronto. Following that, Jill taught business and marketing courses at college for over nine years. Today, through her business, WellConnected, Jill works with accountants and other service professionals to assist them to generate on going referrals. She leads group referral coaching programs and works one to one with clients using measurable systems to grow their business. Jill’s coaching and training is very interactive as she has a passion educating and having fun at the same time.

Jim Singer was called to the bar in 1989 and has been practicing exclusively in Fam Law since about 1995. He has appeared on numerous trials before the Superior Court of Justice, on appeals before the Court of Appeal and (prior to exclusively focusing on Fam Law) effectively changed the law in Ontario in respect to the notice provisions required to be given to the City of Toronto for persons who slip and fall on municipal sidewalks caused by the build up of ice, on a case called Myshrall v. City of Toronto. That lower judge’s decision was upheld by the Court of Appeal, the City appealed to the Supreme Court of Canada, where the City’s appeal was finally denied. The Myshrall case was quite topical at the time, and Jim was interviewed by CFRB, the Globe and Mail, and the Toronto Star.

By Myshrall and anything o/s of Fam Law is long in the rear view mirror. His files often involve complex business valuations, income determinations and the like along with the inevitable custody and access disputes. Jim’s older daughter has just started law school at Queen’s (Jim’s alma mater) this month, and he’s already warming up a chair for her in his office, as he’s been a sole practitioner from Day 1. When Jim isn’t breathing fam law, he enjoys talking about the Blue Jays, Raptors and Leafs, but his enthusiasm for Tor sports teams has also succumbed to the reality of being the family breadwinner (Raptors notwithstanding).
