With the slow return of CRA employees and the reopening of the Tax Court, there are short term and long term implications as a result of pandemic in regards to tax disputes. Understandably, many are concerned about when their tax dispute will be resolve in light of the backlog.

Christine is a partner with Wilson Vukelich LLP, a full service firm in Markham and a leader in business and tax law. Christine’s practice is devoted to the areas of labour and employment law, tax litigation and related litigation.
In regards to her labour and employment law practice, Christine represents unionized and non-unionized employers in all aspects of labour and employment law. Christine is thoroughly versed in issues surrounding the employment relationship from hiring, discipline, compensation, performance management, workplace health and safety, human rights, through to termination.
In regards to her tax litigation practice, Christine represents individuals and corporations in their disputes with the Canada Revenue Agency. Christine works with accountants to successfully represent clients at the objection stage, at the appeal stage before the Tax Court of Canada, on applications for judicial review before the Federal Court, on rectification applications, for remission orders, and in regards to requests for taxpayer relief. Christine is particularly focused on positively resolving business related tax disputes, such as the improper assessment of independent contractors as employees, the denial of valid business expense claims, shareholder benefit assessments, and director assessments.
Christine is an active member of various committees, boards, and associations, including acting as the 2018 President of the Ajax Pickering Board of Trade. Christine regularly moderates and speaks at events, including those held by the Ontario Bar Association, the Professional Engineers Ontario, the Ajax Pickering Board of Trade, and the Oshawa Chamber of Commerce.

Kyle’s practice focuses on Canadian tax planning for businesses, individuals, and trusts, with a particular emphasison owner-managed businesses, cross-border issues, high net worth families, and professionals. He advises on all aspects of domestic and international tax law, including corporate structuring and reorganizations, private wealth and estate planning, business succession planning, immigration/emigration, purchase and sale transactions, and structuring professional groups.
Kyle takes pride in providing practical solutions that are tax-efficient, communicated in a clear, straightforward manner. As a specialist, he frequently collaborates with clients’ existing advisors to deliver integrated plans that meet the client’s unique needs and priorities.
Kyle is a frequent speaker and author on tax topics for the Canadian Tax Foundation, Law Society of Ontario, Ontario Bar Association, Chartered Professional Accountants Ontario, and other organizations. He is a current member of the Programming Committee for the Ontario Tax Conference and a former member of the CTF Toronto Young Practitioners Steering Committee.

Prior to joining Wilson Vukelich LLP, Robin was the Executive Director of the Canadian Tax Foundation. Prior to that, he was a partner of a national law firm.
Robin has been a teacher for his entire career. He teaches in the graduate program at Osgoode Hall Law School, was one of the original faculty of the University of Waterloo Master of Tax program where he was the thesis supervisor and taught an emerging issues course for 10 years, and has taught at Queen's University Law School, the Harvard Law School International Tax Program, the University of Calgary law school and the bar admission courses in Ontario and Alberta. He has developed and taught courses for CRA auditors. He is a frequent writer and speaker for continuing education programs sponsored by domestic and international professional organizations, including the Canadian, Ontario, American and International Bar Associations, the Canadian Tax Foundation, STEP, the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants, the International Fiscal Association and the OECD.
Robin has served on several advisory committees to the CRA and industry associations. He was a director of STEP Canada for over ten years and is now a member of STEP's Worldwide Council and its Public Policy Committee. He is also a member of the Editorial Board of the Trust Quarterly Reviews, published by STEP and The Association of Corporate Trustees. In November 2015, he was awarded a Founders Award by STEP Worldwide for services to the STEP organization in Canada and abroad.

Duane has been advising individuals, small businesses and multi-national entities on a variety of tax issues since his call to the Ontario Bar in 2003.
After gaining close to 9 years of experience working for large Bay Street law firms, Duane opened his own tax boutique firm in 2011 where he is able to provide quality tax advice, at reasonable rates.
During his career, he has been involved in some of the most complicated and high profile transactions in Canada, and participated in several ground-breaking tax litigation cases. Having been trained and mentored by some of Canada’s best lawyers, he brings a unique perspective and varied experience to his practice.
