If you are an accountant and trusted advisor, your clients often ask you about grants/tax credits. This webinar will give you the information to assist clients understand what is available for them.

If you are a business you will gain insight into which grants are right for your business.

The webinar will focus on:

  • New refundable tax credit programs for Clean Tech
  • Updates on funding available for businesses for R&D / Innovation; hiring / training; export and business expansion
  • CRA’s approach to the SR&ED program; some rule and administration changes and how clients can maximize their claims and minimize CRA audit of claims


    While Canada gives out more grant funding than most other countries, businesses still have a difficult time navigating the grant landscape. RDP will cover the main funding programs and how companies can “win” a grant. In addition, as a firm that has assisted to prepare thousands of SR&ED claims over 30 years, you will receive insight on the program and some valuable tips and traps to avoid.

    Brian Cookson will be presenting. Brian has over 30 years experience with the SR&ED and grant programs. He has lectured extensively and contributed and provided advice to government programs.

    Brian Cookson

    Brian Cookson, Managing Director, has specialized in assisting companies obtain R&D credits and government grants for over 30 years in Canada, UK, Ireland, Netherlands, Germany and the USA.

    As Managing Director of RDP Associates, Brian has worked with small to large companies, including many of the top companies in the world, in all types of industries. He has lectured and written extensively on R&D tax credits and government grants and participates in government/practitioner groups.

    Brian is a Chartered Accountant and previously worked for Ernst & Young from 1979 to 1987. In 1987, RDP Associates was established in Canada, and has since grown internationally.
