Course Description

The 2021 year-end is upon us with the lion’s share of corporate year ends and T2 season started in the spring. Before you get too far along in preparing your year ends, now is the best time to stop and think about what is important for T2 filings. This webinar will bring you up to speed on corporate filings for 2021.

This course will provided an overview of key corporate tax changes that will impact 2021 corporate tax return filings including the following:
  1. Select federal and provincial tax updates, including changes to tax rates and tax credits
  2. An update on COVID-19 programs and tax reporting requirements
  3. Employer income and benefits
  4. Impact of the recent budget
  5. Select Canadian/international developments

Daryle Moffatt

Daryle Moffatt qualified as a Chartered Accountant (now Chartered Professional Accountant) in December 1994 and, with the exception of 5 years spent working in the power industry, has worked in public accounting since 1991. Daryle started his career working (about 7-years) in the assurance side of public accounting servicing clients ranging in size and industries from owner-manager operations to public companies.

Starting in 1998, Daryle worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP in its downtown Toronto taxation practice and then went off to work in the power industry before returning to public accounting in the fall of 2010. Since July 2011, Daryle has been working as a sole practitioner, with a focus on taxation and has spent a significant amount of time working full-time including both personal and corporate tax with a focus on taxation for personal clients and small to medium sized corporate clients in various industries. Daryle also assists clients with their CRA audits, taxpayer relief requests, and voluntary disclosure applications. He provides consulting on owner-manager taxation planning, corporate reorganizations, tax residency matters, and cross-border taxation.

Daryle has completed Parts I, II and III of the CPA Canada’s In-Depth Tax Course in 2002. Daryle has taught at Seneca College in the area of Taxation and currently instructs for CPA Ontario, the provincial governing body, in the area of Taxation.

For the majority of Daryle’s career, he has worked in the greater Toronto and the Parry Sound areas but spent 2 ½ years working overseas in Luxembourg.
