As Co-Practice Group Leader of the firm’s Tax Group and Estates & Trusts Group, and a member of the Estates & Succession Planning Group, Marni’s practice focuses on estate, income tax and succession planning, including cross-border planning, planning to reduce estate administration tax (formerly known as probate fees), the preparation of wills, powers of attorney and trusts, and assisting with estate administration.
Michael draws on his in-depth understanding of tax and corporate law to help clients take advantage of business opportunities and develop strategies to mitigate tax. He advises a wide range of clients across Canada and internationally.
Michael is a member of the firm’s Tax and Estates & Trusts Groups. His practice involves personal and corporate tax planning, shareholder disputes and remediation, succession planning, corporate reorganizations, restructuring and cross-border transactions. He also has extensive experience advising on inbound and outbound tax structuring; mergers, acquisitions and divestitures; corporate financings; investment fund structuring and taxation; tax controversy resolution; and private client services.
