Changes to Canadian Valuation Standards: Implications for Preparers and Users of Valuation Reports
Effective January 1, 2026, the Canadian Institute of Chartered Business Valuators implemented significant revisions to Canadian independent valuation standards after three years and three exposure drafts. This session will cover the revisions, compare them to the previous standards and discuss practical implications of the revisions including changes to report wording, engagement letter wording and other client communications; scope of work issues; impact on file documentation; and valuation process including checklists and quality control.
