Course Description

This webinar will focus on:
  • An explanation of the new legislation passed by parliament on April 11, 2020 in respect of “A second Act representing certain measures in response to COVID-19” (Bill C-14) mainly the 75% wage subsidy;
  • A numerical example of how the 75% wage subsidy will apply;
  • Potential issues related to the legislation passed by Parliament; and
  • Possible planning opportunities as it relates to the 75% Wage Subsidy.

Alex has close to 20 years of experience working in the accounting departments of large companies and as a public practitioner. Over the years, Alex helped many private clients with their tax structuring and estate planning needs. Alex also assists in Canadian and US tax compliance and various other tax related matters.

Alex is heavily involved in the tax community and is a member of the Canadian Tax Foundation (CTF) where he has published articles for the CTF and presented at various events for the CTF.

In addition, Alex has also presented at events for CPA Ontario, accounting groups and other industry specific events. He also facilitates the CPA Canada In-depth tax course.

Stan Shadrin

Stan is a CPA, CA with over 10 years of experience of helping businesses with their accounting and tax needs. He has held various positions in small accounting firms as well as a national accounting firm. Stan has served a variety of clients ranging from sole proprietors to medium size businesses by helping them establish most efficient tax structures and assisting them with Canadian income tax compliance.

Boris Volfovsky

Boris has over 17 years of experience in public practice. Before becoming a partner at CPA Solutions LLP Boris worked at one of the big four national firms as a senior tax manager in the private enterprise group.

Boris has vast experience in working with owner managers and their small, medium and large private corporations across industries.

In addition Boris is also involved in the tax community through the facilitation of the In-Depth tax courses, facilitation of tax week under the former School of Accountancy and through presenting on various tax topics at YDCPAA, PD Consortium and AJAG.
