Course description

New BC PST legislation requires accounting firms to charge PST on most of their professional services and related disbursements starting October 1, 2026. This session gives our audience the practical guidance needed to ensure compliance with the new rules and communicate the change early to their clients. The new rules also affect CPA and certain other professional services firms outside BC, so if your firm (or your firm's professional services clients) has clients with assets, "matters" or operations in BC, you may have registration and remittance obligations too. This session will also cover how the new PST rules will affect CPA firms' professional services clients that are impacted by this change, including engineering and geo-science firms, architects, commercial real estate and strata management firms, etc.
